We're coming to Japan, and we need two market launch representatives to build our Tokyo presence from scratch. You'll be employee #1 and #2, and will define what Karma is in Japan.

The Opportunity
We just returned from Tokyo and saw something unmistakable: Japan's restaurant market is ready for what we've built.
Karma transforms restaurants with technology they actually love. Our all-in-one platform—modern POS, seamless payments, QR ordering, automated loyalty—powers 300+ top restaurants across the Nordics. We're profitable, growing fast, and solving real problems for restaurant owners every day.
Now we're coming to Japan, and we need two entrepreneurs to make it happen.
This isn't a traditional sales role. You'll be employee #1 and #2 in Japan—market builders with equity, autonomy, and the responsibility of launching an entire country. You'll shape how Karma enters Japan, win the first restaurants that define our reputation, and build the foundation for everything that comes after.
Think of it as starting your own company, but with Swedish backing and a proven product that already works.
Your Mission
Build the market from zero
You'll win our first 20-50 restaurant partners in Tokyo. That means getting out there—meeting owners, understanding their operations, learning what keeps them up at night. You'll take our Nordic playbook and adapt it to Japanese restaurant culture, figuring out what works here and what needs to change.
Own the full cycle
Hunt for opportunities. Generate your own pipeline. Run discovery meetings and product demos. Navigate complex stakeholder environments where you're talking to owners, managers, and staff. Close deals. Ensure smooth onboarding. This is your show from first contact to launch.
Shape our Japan strategy
You'll have a direct line to leadership, and we need your insights. Tell us what's working and what's not. Help us understand which segments respond best—quick service, casual dining, fine dining. Define pricing and positioning for the Japanese market. Your early decisions will determine how we scale across the country.
Build something lasting
As Japan grows, you won't just be an employee—you'll be a leader. Build and lead the team you started. Your fingerprints will be on everything we do here.
You Are
Essential:
- Fluent in Japanese and English (business-level in both)
- 3-5+ years in B2B sales, ideally in restaurant tech, hospitality tech, or SaaS
- Hunter mentality—you know how to generate pipeline and close deals independently
- Deep understanding of Japanese restaurant operations and culture
- Entrepreneurial mindset—you thrive in ambiguity and build structure where there is none
- Based in Tokyo or willing to relocate
Bonus points:
- Experience in early-stage or startup environments
- Existing relationships with restaurant owners, chains, or hospitality groups in Tokyo
- Working knowledge of POS systems, payment processing, or restaurant management tools
- Track record of being first employee or early market hire
